When relocating, you probably won't have the luxury of looking at every house for sale. At best, you might get be shown 20 to 25, so whittle down that list first thing with this advice:
- Before leaving town, write your needs into one list. Then put the things you simply want in another. If a house comes up short on your must-haves, it's one less house to look at.
- Have a predetermined price range. This could be based on mortgage or a conservative estimate of how much you'll get from selling your current home.
- What length of a commute are you ready to make each day to work and other activities? Traffic in the Oakland area could be different than your current location, so tell me your desired drive-time, and I'll locate homes based on my knowledge of drive times in the area.
I can send you some best recommendations prior to your arrival. Or you may already have some top candidates as a result of your own research. While seeing listing photos on the web is invaluable, there's nothing like walking through homes in person. Let me set up any necessary appointments with other Realtors or homeowners and map a route.
